San Bernardino County Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) will be hosting a Trunk or Treat Resource Fair for parents. This is a fun and interactive event to engage and inform parents of the wide variety of resources DCSS offers in supporting their children. In addition, several community partners will be in attendance providing information and access to job skills, health, childcare, nutrition, and more services. Events include children’s activities, candy, and costumes.
The Fair will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Victorville and Loma Linda locations.
DCSS, county agencies, and community-based organizations will be providing information about free or
low-cost services.
“We want parents to know we are here to help,” Child Support Services Director Marie Girulat said. “This is an opportunity for DCSS to partner with other agencies to share information about how we can help.”
By raising awareness about our community services, DCSS directly supports the Countywide Vision to promote family self-sufficiency and reduce childhood poverty throughout the county. DCSS assists families directly by establishing orders for child and medical support, establishing parentage, locating parents, enforcing support orders, and collecting and distributing child support payments.
DCSS also partners with many county agencies and community-based organizations to meet the needs of both parents, grandparents, and legal guardians to help remove barriers like unemployment, underemployment, license suspension, domestic violence, and homelessness.
